ST. GEORGE JYOTI BHAVAN, KAVAKKAD

St. George JyothiBhavan started at Kavakad in Ernakulam Dt, to care for the elderly women abandoned by their families. Very Rev. Thomas Malekkudy the vicar general of Kothamangalam diocese officiated the blessing of the orphanage on July 15, 1997. There are 40 elderly women who find love, care and comfort from the sisters. The sisters are also actively involved in the different ministries of the parish like attending family meetings, home visiting, teaching catechism, youth ministry and mission league.
